Frequently Asked Questions | Industrial Strapping Machines

What is an industrial strapping machine and what is it used for?

An industrial strapping machine is equipment that applies plastic or metal strapping around a box, pallet or group of products, securing and reinforcing the load for transport or storage. It replaces manual strapping, increasing speed, ensuring consistent strap tension and improving process repeatability.

Can the strapping machines strap complete pallets or only boxes?

Depending on the model and configuration, ESI strapping machines can be set up to strap individual boxes or complete pallets. For pallet strapping applications, the machine is normally integrated after the palletizer and industrial wrapper in the end-of-line.

Is it possible to apply more than one strap per product?

Yes. The number of straps per product is configurable, allowing one or more straps to be applied in different positions (horizontal, vertical or crossed), according to packaging specifications and transport requirements.

What type of strapping is used in ESI machines?

The strapping machines are compatible with standard market plastic strapping (PET or PP) supplied in rolls. The strap width and thickness, as well as the applied tension, can be configured according to the product and the required level of load security.

Can the strapping machine be integrated into an automatic end-of-line?

Yes. ESI strapping machines are designed for line integration, receiving products directly from the conveyor and returning them to the line after strapping, without manual intervention. This configuration is particularly efficient when combined with a robotic palletizer and an industrial wrapping machine.

Does ESI Systems supply the strapping material (consumable) for the machines?

Yes, ESI Systems also supplies these products. You can request a quote directly through our website form or contact our sales team directly. Vasco Caldas - vasco.caldas@esirobotics.com | (+351) 911 158 696
